BSc Exercise Science | Master of Physiotherapy
Position: Physiotherapist
Born and bred on a farm outside of Wagga Wagga, Ben moved to Wollongong to study Exercise Science, followed by Masters of Physiotherapy at Sydney University. Ben continued to develop his love for sport and health, both playing and coaching with the Uni Bulldogs AFL club during his time studying.
Now living locally in Woonona, Ben moved into the professional world and has continued his passion for leading an active lifestyle and instilling healthy habits through practicing as a physiotherapist. Ben strives to implement the education, strength and guidance throughout life moving forward.
Ben has worked in a variety of locations and settings since graduating, starting out in Wagga Wagga, then plying his trade in Melbourne in a rehabilitative setting for the elderly. Despite working primarily in a private practice setting, Ben has experience working in hospitals (ICU, CCU, orthopaedic, rehabilitation and palliative care wards) and with elite AFL athletes in Melbourne.
Ben has completed courses in pilates (matwork and reformer), dry needling, Parkinson’s PD Warrior, Tai Chi for falls prevention and balance, and various strength and conditioning courses. Ben also delivers hydrotherapy sessions, both individually and in group settings at McKeons Pool in Unanderra and Towradgi. Ben prides himself on applying education, health, wellbeing and holistic physiotherapy practice, making it applicable to people from all walks of life.
Ben is currently teaching strength classes based out of Woonona surf club. He has a strong following of local surf legends who stay in top shape by attending weekly. Woonona purpose physiotherapy targets injury prevention and injury pre-habilitation. Keeping you in the Woonona surf for longer.
