ABOUT SHAUNA
BSc Exercise Science | Master of Physiotherapy
Position: Physiotherapist
Growing up in Northern Illawarra, Bulli, Shauna grew up being involved in a mix of sports: cross country, athletics, triathlons and AFL. Progressing to national levels in both cross country and athletics, Shauna experienced first-hand physiotherapy care, sparking an interest in pursuing a career in physiotherapy.
Shauna graduated with an Exercise Science degree from the University of Wollongong before completing a Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney. During her physiotherapy degree, she developed a keen interest in musculoskeletal and sporting injuries, enjoying understanding the body’s physiology and underlying causes of injuries.
Shauna’s portfolio of experience includes: working with the Western Bulldogs AFL club at interstate Sydney games and travelling to Fiji with an Australian women’s soccer club providing on field physiotherapy. Shauna is an avid runner and will likely introduce interested clients to her regular weekly women’s running group!
Locally, Shauna plays for and is the lead physiotherapist for the Northern Districts Tigers AFL club. She has actively pursued experience in on field assessment with acute soft tissue injuries and ACL recovery, as she has witnessed both firsthand on field.
Having now finished her degree in Sydney, Shauna has completed a course in Matwork Pilates and runs weekly classes at our Woonona clinic. Outside of work, Shauna enjoys spending her time running, hiking, and socialising with friends.
